Wired CCTV cameras are more challenging to install because they tend to be in plain view and they can take away the element of surprise, but they normally perform better than wireless ones as better footage is assured. Leave some room for the camera to be able to move left and right, up and down so you can be assured you can control the Camera View exactly where you want it to reach. Camera features usually include pan, tilt and zoom. Also make sure that you are drilling on a sturdy surface. Insert the appropriate cables through the holes when you are done.
Now it is time to install the cameras. Adjust the lens first and ensure that the protective covers are secured and screw them together. Make sure that the lens cable is entwined loosely over the lens and connect it where it is supposed to go at the back of the camera. Do this for every camera you have and turn the lens switch to video. Mount the camera into the enclosures. Now connect all appropriate cables to the camera.
Connect all the appropriate wires at the back of the DVR. Plug each cable where it is supposed to go to. Now connect the power cable to the power supply as well as the monitor. Power them on. Now once powered on the DVR will most likely prompt you to tweak some settings. It is the easiest part of all since most use an intuitive and user friendly interface and your done.
By this time, you should have successfully installed your cameras and should be able to be viewing footage from each CCTV camera. Most CCTV packages are almost always alike so this installation guide should be similar for every variety out there.
