where he is wrong; the device needs 2 amps.
A "wall-wart" is not a regulated supply. It may be rated at 12V, but if you measure the output, it COULD be 18V.

I suggested the Astron supply because it is QUALITY, it has a "Cigarette Lighter" type plug that will aloow you to power the video camera without cutting the power cord and without potential errors of reversing the polarity.
